A good cut should still look like a good cut on the mornings you do nothing to it. That means working with your growth patterns, your density, and your cowlicks rather than against them.

I cut dry for most textures so I can see how the hair falls in real time. Wet hair lies. If your hair has a strong wave or a cowlick at the crown, cutting it wet and hoping is how you end up with a shape that only works the day you leave the salon.

Bring photos if you have them, but bring photos of hair with a similar texture to yours where you can. A shape that works on fine straight hair will not do the same thing on dense curls.

Common questions

Should I come with clean hair?
Day old hair is ideal. Freshly washed hair is slippery and sits differently than it will most days.
Do you cut curly hair?
Yes, dry and in its natural pattern. See the curly cut page for how that appointment runs.
